The big problem with world peace is that no one gives up. We blame it all in other people, never looking at what we can do...For peace to come, we all have to give up, but everyoe wants victory! Such a pity... Everytime I see things like this, I cant help but think that it's just a excuse, even thought I know that, deep inside, everyone wishes for wor world peace...Such a beautiful dream~ There is a beautiful poem about it, "Das utopias", written by Mario Quintana, that, translated, means: "If they are impossible to rech...ora! It's not a motive for not wanting them... so sad the paths if there wasn't the magical presence of the stars!"
And no, I'm not saying world peace will ever happen. My username here has nothing to do with my stance on the issue either (it's what people call me around here). I'm just stating, that hope for a better world, hope for peace is what keeps us going. Without that hope, the light disappears from the world and you get...well...the Dark Ages....all over again..minus the plague.
In all blatant honesty, no one alive on this planet at the moment can say it will never happen. Since we have been on this rock, we have not known peace. Until we know it, we can not rightfully write it off as impossible.
And really, on a more personal level, why wallow in hatred and cynicism? It takes far less energy to be hopeful, to love than it does to be jaded and hate.
World peace will never happen, people hate each other because cultures clash, or they disagree on some other thing, and you get war. I am happy with my culture (well...for the most part at least) and I totally disagree with others, I mean everyone is going to be like that, unless they're on drugs and hugging trees of course... they're just off their rockers though so their opinion doesn't count.
I think people need to realise that it just isn't gunna happen
I agree that in it's definition, it can't happen, but not for the reasons that have been stated. I think that the world, and civilization as a whole, STRIVES on conflict, and that's not a bad thing. We WANT conflict. Without it, everything would pretty much cease to exist. There'd be no motivation to do anything. The world would have no point. So not only does world peace not exist, but we shouldn't actually want it, as it will pretty much mean the end of everything.
I'm pretty sure World Peace is usually used to mean, "The end of war between human beings," not "The end of all conflict anywhere, ever."
I think we could cope just fine if human beings learned to get along with eachother. It's not exactly what you'd call likely to happen, since there's a strong wiring in humans to try to use others as a stepping stone for one's own advantage, even if it means killing them in the process, and there's ALWAYS going to be somebody who caves to that and tries to start another war at some point... but...
Don't know if that was what was meant with the stamp, but...
