Req - Mormonism

Every religion, especially the members of it, can be extremely bigoted, but I find Mormonism to be the most extreme in my eyes, mostly because I grew up with it surrounding me and I've lived with it every day.

1. Weddings. If you're a Mormon getting married to a Mormon, you're most likely going to have a wedding in one of the temples so that you and your loved one can spend eternity together. But, if you're not a Mormon or don't get permission to set foot in the temple, then you can just give up on watching their ceremony. I've known people who have had to wait outside the temple while their sons or daughters get married inside and that's just wrong.


2. Missions. They are practically pressured since birth to go on a mission for their church during the time they could be going to college. They're sent all over the world and try to persuade people to join their religion. I don't really think I need to go on much longer about this. I'm pretty sure all of can know just how annoying missionaries can be. I've also had bad experience with those going on missions. My brother's friend tried to convert him several times through letters while he was on his mission, no matter how many times my brother said no and finally stopped replying to his friend's letters for a while.


3. Swearing. You can't say shit around these people without feeling as though they're damning you through just their stare alone. You can't even say "god" around them without them throwing a bitchfit.


4. Other Religions/No Religion. They're all below them. Not part of their religion? You're instantly shunned from their group and most likely they're going to stop talking to you/act as though you don't exist. It's like if you don't believe the exact same things they do, don't practice the same religion, etc. then you are not worthy to walk the same school hallways that they do. More personal stories here about their bullshit, but I think you guys get the image.

There are probably so many things I could put here, but I'm done for now.

Out of all my years here, I have only met a few Mormons that are nice and accept me for who I am, but even then I still can't tell if they're just trying to be nice or if they genuinely are.

P.S. Utah sucks.
