I find it fucking hypocritical how when people say they hate yuri, no one gives a shit and nobody calls them a homophobe, but if you say you hate yaoi, you get called on by a bunch of pissy bitches who can't take a God damn opinion!
Damn do I agree. I like yaoi, but only (let the stereotype flaming begin) Hetalia yaoi. Yep. But other series where the anime is AWL ABOOT DAH YAOIZ really disturb me. But it doesn't make me a homophobe. Nor does liking yaoi make someone a gay rights activist.

i like yaoi, a friend of mine doesn't but we're still friends :3 and she's not homophobic, i respect her opinions and she respects mine it's all good .... but its sad though how many yaoi fans i've seen fans go batshit when someone doesn't like yaoi, i feel sorry for the poor people that get hate simply because they don't have the same tastes as the yaoifans. ):
And I love how fantards think that Yaio is the epitome of politics when it comes to gay and civil rights....and the sad thing, as someone who likes yaio, I have to deal with this shit every time I don't like EVERY pairing out there. So in order to prove my worth, I have to agree with every pairing out there....even the ones that are shitty as hell?
Its FICTIONAL yet people look at this shit as REAL. Even though I do like some yaio and there are some crack pairings that I like...I actually know when the cartoon ends and reality begins. A lot of fantards don't into consideration that these are NOT real people being presented and they should not assume that every real life couple out there behaves like that...at all. But oh no, they are sure their yaio fantasies are REAL and that means that anyone who doesn't like yaio, whether for the characters, the way the story is written or the fact they're just not impressed by it, they are just mean homophobic HATERS! That's always what it is! D8<
One of the past problems I had with yaio was that it was the same brainless fluff that I didn't enjoy about straight pairings but for some reason, they tried to amp the cuteness levels to the point where it just gave me a stomach ache from looking at it. I like yaio that actually shows characters as HUMANS and not as devices for the sake of making them look 'oh so kawaii'. I mean, cute characters aren't a problem....its just when its cute, brain-dead, emotionless, plot-hole driven stories and characters where things go so very, VERY wrong.

As long as they don't go around saying "oh, well he's not awesome when he's gay, or I dun liek him when he's gay!" I couldn't really give a damn either way. And those reasons aren't necessarily homophobic, they're just fucking ridiculous in my opinion of course. .n.;
Its the same thing when reversed as well....its just...STUPID.
Whether a character is gay or not, I will like them based on how they are shown and what they do. Their orientation isn't a winning factor because I like awesome gay characters, awesome straight characters and so on. I guess for a lot of people, orientation IS important.
