Well you shouldn't have left the rug out then should you? She ruined it as a result of your own foolishness. I knew one woman who had this puppy and she used to have a rug that cost £50, the puppy wrecked it and she payed out for a replacement rug, another £50, puppy destroyed it again, another £50 rug and this kept happening again and again. It was a waste of money because she wasn't teaching the dog not to do it and she was leaving the rug down when she went out. Puppies do chew things, but you can't blame them if you leave things lying around FOR them to chew.
the rug covers the entire floor and is held down by various furniture, it would be kind of difficult to put that in storage until you can teach your puppy not to chew it.
((My dog is the reason a good majority of my drawings and important documents were destroyed when she was a puppy. And for some reason, she'd always chew up my favorite plushies. I caught her eating Kakashi and Misa one time.))
