What you're saying is that, if you use a source, and cut/paste it into a collage of some sort, and upload it as YOUR collage but stating that the items IN the collage are not yours, then that's stealing.
It is not in any way. For example, I'll give you a literal comparison as follows: If you're writing a research paper for school.
This is literally taking sentences, phrases, or paragraphs and paraphrasing them (equivalent to taking pictures and cropping them), arranging them in your report so that they make sense and are organized (equivalent to positioning the pictures in the collage), and then citing where all this information came from (equivalent to citing the owner(s) of the pictures in the deviation).
The compiled research paper is yours, the sources are not yours.
Basically, if you couldn't use already existing work, writing research papers would be stealing as well.
